Real Bride: Meg & Dom’s Woodland Wedding

Wedding Date: 5th July 2025Venue: The Woodlands at Hothorpe

When Meg came to us, she had one clear idea in mind — she wanted a black wedding dress. What she didn’t expect was to find the one quite so quickly.

Finding “The One” – A Black Wedding Dress with a Cape

After asking online whether a black wedding dress was even possible, Meg reached out to a couple of boutiques — and when we said yes, we became the very first shop she visited.

Despite calling herself “the fussiest person ever,” Meg surprised even herself. The second dress she tried on was an instant yes. And then we added the cape… and that was the moment everything fell into place.

Meg came in without a specific style in mind, simply knowing the colour she wanted. Falling in love so quickly wasn’t something she expected, but when it happens, you just know — and this dress was made for her.

Her love for gothic style was already part of her story. In 2023, Meg celebrated her 30th birthday with a full gothic-themed party, surrounded by friends and family dressed head to toe in black — a bold and unforgettable moment that later inspired her dramatic bridal look.

A Woodland Wedding with Natural Elegance

Meg and Dom chose a woodland wedding theme, perfectly suited to their venue, The Woodlands at Hothorpe. The natural surroundings paired beautifully with Meg’s statement black gown, creating a wedding aesthetic that felt both romantic and unique.

The bridesmaids wore different shades of green, adding depth, individuality, and a soft contrast to the woodland setting — a look that tied the whole bridal party together effortlessly.

A Love Story 13 Years in the Making

Meg and Dom had been together for 13 years before saying “I do,” and their wedding day reflected the life they’ve built together — especially as parents.

Their first dance to “Until the End” by Dean Lewis was made even more special when their two children joined them on the dance floor, turning a traditional moment into something deeply personal.

Another emotional highlight was Meg’s father-daughter dance, a moment she had dreamed about for years. The song had been chosen long before the engagement, making it one of the most meaningful parts of the day.

A Peaceful Honeymoon Escape

Following the celebrations, Meg and Dom escaped to the Cotswolds, staying in a beautiful treehouse. Peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by nature, it was the perfect way to begin their married life together.
